Hupman Brothers at the Wolfville Curling Club

Perennial favourite of Deep Roots, the Hupman Brothers will be playing a dance at the Wolfville Curling Club on February 10, 8:00 pm to midnight.
Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased at the Box of Delights bookstore in Wolfville.

Robbie Burns Day Celebration

Robbie Burns day is just around the corner. So lets celebrate Scotland's late, great poet with a few less frills and a lot more dancing!
Join dance caller Niamh Webster of the Tir na nOg Irish Dance Academy as she guides you through traditional (and some not so) Scottish and Irish dances accompanied by the driving tunes of the North Mountain Ceilidh Band (Scott Henderson - pipes, flute and whistles; and Andy Webster guitar, bouzouki and vocals).
The band will also treat participants to a few renditions of some of Burns musical works and dancers of both Irish and Scottish traditions will give demonstrations during the break accompanied by the pipes.
Door prizes and cash bar as always!
Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased at the Box of Delights Book Shop in Wolfville, or at the door on the night for $12. Under 5s are FREE!

Jens Jeppesen - You loved him in May at our Blossom Blues show, right? He's a powerhouse performer with a 'shake the windows' voice, lightening fast picking, and soulful lyrics. Jeppesen's distinctive 'Buzzsaw Bluegrass' sound grabs a hold of his audience and won't let go!
Russell Sawler - A true entertainer, with a stage presence that oozes charisma and personality, Sawler draws his audience into his world with his truly unique and colourful lyrical prowess.

Benefit Concert for James Skinner

There will be a Benefit Concert for James Skinner on August 27th - it starts at 8pm at the St. John's Parish Hall in Wolfville. James has been an active member of the Valley arts scene - he is the genius behind Valley Events, as well as a volunteer with numerous arts organizations, and a connaisseur of great music. All proceeds help to offset the medical costs of James's trip to Cleveland this past August 8th. The money will also help for his future trip in the spring when he will receive further treatment to repair his damaged nasal tissue, turbinates.

Featuring local performers, Night Kitchen is produced on the first Saturday of each month from September to April, at the Al Whittle Theatre in Wolfville. The shows start at 8 p.m.
Each show features a number of performers. Andy Flinn and Ariana Nasr of t@b are your hosts. Deep Roots encourages you to support these diverse and wonderful community variety shows.
